Researching and Finding Common Ground on Climate and Nature 5th Feb

Are you looking to have your voice heard and engage positively with your local politician/s?

Are you passionate about tackling the climate and nature crisis and looking for support to help you to take action?

Whether it be your MP, your representative at a devolved government, regional mayor or local councillor, our tested methodology is proven to improve your engagements with politicians and triple the likelihood of having politician/s take action on your behalf.

Our training series will cover the key stages of your democratic journey, including:

  • Understanding your local politicians and what actions they can take on your behalf
  • Creating strong, achievable asks you can take to your politicians
  • Writing letters to your politicians that encourage action
  • Having effective meetings with politicians.

“Researching and finding Common Ground on climate and nature with Your Politician” will focus on better understanding your local politicians, by exploring their motivations, interests, and influences. We will share some simple and effective research tools, and explore how this research can be used to find meaningful common ground with your politician - a vital area for getting them on board with the climate and nature issues that matter to you. The session will also look at co-benefits, encouraging you to think of the advantages of climate action through additional framings that might resonate with your local representatives.

PLEASE NOTE - This is an interactive session with opportunities to contribute ideas and ask questions. We recommend that participants join on a computer or laptop to get the best possible experience.

If you have any questions about the training or have any specific accessibility requirements that you’d like us to know about in order for you to attend, please get in touch at info@hftf.org.uk and we’ll be happy to help.
